Wir sind DIE Kinderinitiative – wir sind KRASS e.V.!
KRASS e. V. ist ein gemeinnütziger Verein mit dem Ziel, Kindern aller Gesellschaftsschichten, aber insbesondere aus sozial benachteiligten Familien, Kunst nahe zu bringen. KRASS e. V. steht für eine breite Plattform zugunsten nachhaltiger Bildungs- und Kunstvermittlung.
Pädagogisch wertvoll ist, dass Kunst Impulsgeber für gemeinsamen Austausch ist und Kommunikation fördert.
KRASS e. V. arbeitet international und interkulturell.
Mit KRASS e. V. lernen Kinder sich selbst, ihre Talente und ihre Fähigkeiten kennen.
Kindern, die in Armut leben, bleiben viel zu häufig wichtige Bildungsmöglichkeiten und Chancen zum Aufbau essentieller, sozialer Kontakte versperrt.
Unser vorrangiges Ziel ist es daher, eine sichere Operationsbasis und damit eine breite Plattform für Kinder zu schaffen, auf deren Grundlage sich bereits bestehende Projekte, Einrichtungen und Institutionen im Bereich der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe zusammenschließen.

KRASS e. V. wird direkt durch Spenden und Partner unterstützt, darunter Sachspenden, Zustiftungen, Zeitspenden, Geldspenden und Eigenfinanzierung.

Wir vergeben Stipendien, übernehmen Patenschaften, veranstalten Workshops, gestalten Schulprojekte, richten Kinderateliers ein und betreiben mobile Ateliers.

Es ist unglaublich, dass 10 % unserer Kinder ohne Abschluss von der Schule gehen. Der Bildungserfolg hängt sehr stark vom familiären Hintergrund der Schüler ab.
Hier wollen wir ansetzen, reagieren und agieren! Denn Kinder sind das Wertvollste was wir haben! Sie werden die künftige Gesellschaft gestalten und tragen.

KRASS e. V. is a German non-profit organisation founded in 2008 by Claudia Seidensticker who is visual artist, committed for the promotion of educational funding for children who live in deprived and / or uneducated families.
The registered office is located in Düsseldorf which also holds branch offices in Athens, Peking, Limburg and Trier. About 40 volunteer employees help to initialize, organize and coordinate activities and projects for children in the cultural and artistic field for KRASS e. V. in European countries. In a close cooperation all these projects were organized by artists and agencies as well as organisations offering children and youth welfare services. To consolidate the basic idea, the charity of „culture for children“ was founded in 2010. It supports as pure Foundation, social initiatives such as KRASS e. V. by the allocation of sponsorship funds.
Tasks and Aims
The purpose of the non-profit association is the promotion of child welfare, primarily education and education of children from age of 6 years who lives in social deprived and or uneducated families. These children should get the financial possibility of visiting a qualified training school, for example a music, art or theatre school, to get an academic education. Specially, KRASS e. V. is a great base of combating children’s poverty as well as seizure of effective measurement creating a children friendly Europe. Concrete, KRASS e. V. organizes and finances activities which give the children the possibility to recognize their skills by creativity. Furthermore, they are looking for godparenthoods which are able to promote and sponsor children with special needs of learning. KRASS e. V. is characterized by the idea of creating a children friendly Europe. The KRASS’s activities give the children the chance to recognize their talents as well as their skills.
In the period of 2008-2010, 10 children got permanent scholarship support, 446 children have received financial support, 3704 visited the workshops organised by KRASS e. V., 6270 canvas were painted with 834 litre of colour,
As a whole have been made 43.610 hours of volunteers.
KRASS e. V. was founded by Claudia Seidensticker who is visual artist. She was forced to give up painting which was her life because she suffered a handicap coursed by a severe car accident in the past. During staying for months in hospital and asking the question of creating the live in future, the wish of offering culture and art to the children was more and more crystallized. The wish started to become a vision: many children an assistants painting at the same picture - the biggest children studio in the world. The first branch of KRASS e. V. opened with an art studio for children in Trier. Under the headword "KRASS on site" steps be implemented there, the long term benefit of children scholarship. The opening of "KRASS on site" in the Trierer Kunsthaus in the old printing house on July 4, 2010 marked another milestone in the history of KRASS e. V. Düsseldorf.
Guinness World Record: The biggest children studio
The motto of the first children studio 2008 was called: happiness of painting, the creative process, the membership, without “rights and wrongs”. Equipped with 1000 canvas, 800 paint brushes and 400 litre bucket of colour, hundred of children and assistants met for creating the biggest children studio in the world located in the depot of “Rheinbahn Düsseldorf”. This event was under the patronage of Ursula von der Leyen, the minister of family in the German government. The free participation enabled every social rank for having a nice day, intercommunity and creativity.
The project “the biggest children studio” finished in September, 20th 2008 in Düsseldorf and was written down in the Guinness Book of records.
The biggest children studio in Africa
The second children studio symbolized the solidarity as well as the get-together every people of different colours. This time the Children's Village Kilolo in Tansania was included so the creative bridge from Germany to Africa could be build. On October, 24th 2009 the children of the children’s village Kilolo as well as the children in Düsseldorf were painting at the same time.
European canvas project: „the children bridge“
The Idea of the project was inspirated by the EU Motto 2010: “Poverty and social exclusion”. The children from different European countries paint their own thoughts of Europe as well as their imagination of the European future on a canvas. The slogan: “Children paint their own Europe!”. The object of this project is to create a connective and collective artwork. Children of all different European countries eternalise their ideas on canvas about 30 sqm. which was prepared for this project.
Presently, this canvas tours through whole Europe and is created imaginative day-to-day.
In Germany, Belgium, Estonia, France, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Austria, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Czech Republic and the United kingdom all the children had painted about 1 sqm in each listed country. After finishing the painting-tour the new created picture will be prepared for an exhibition. An opening with the whole painters is planed in the last quarter
School projects / education sponsoring – Krass in Schools
KRASS especially contacts the schools to create unique base for working together of long duration. In the school’s art lesson will offered educational help, for example creating collective project work or presenting art institutions for employers in the future. First, KRASS e. V. wants to enable an impression of artistic production as well as developing the art lesson of the school. Second, KRASS e. V. tries to create unique initiative like practise days, parents-students-godparent-days, house-portrait as well as public relations. KRASS e. V. is searching godparents for great talent kids who live in culture-distant families to enable the possibility of developing their creativity.
For especially talented children from culture-distance families, sponsorships are also sought to allow them to develop of their creativity. A sponsorship may be promoting a talented child over a month, six months or a year.
